Objective

The objective of the session is to introduce Hapi.js, a Node.js web framework, designed for building enterprise-scale Node.js apps. This session will demonstrate how to build APIs and Web apps on the Node.js platform using the Hapi.js framework (http://hapijs.com/).

Description

Node.js Web Development with Hapi.js framework. Demonstrate how to build APIs and Web apps on the Node.js platform using the Hapi.js framework. This will be an introductory talk on Hapi.js for building enterprise-scale REST APIs and Web apps on the Node.js platform.
Hapi.js is built as a scalable web framework for Node.js that powers the entire mobile backend services at Walmart. Hapi.js is a great framework for building enterprise-scale REST APIs and Web Apps. Hapi.js is a better alternative to the Express.js framework. The NPM team has chosen Hapi as their prefered Node.js framework (http://blog.npmjs.org/post/88024339405/nearing-practical-maintainability)

Basic knowledge of Node.js.

Speaker bio

Shiju Varghese is a Microsoft MVP and a Solutions Architect, specializes in Microsoft Azure, Node.js and Mobile. He provides both technical and architectural guidance for building Cloud based solutions, Hybrid Mobile Apps and Mobile Backend services. His areas of interest include Cloud Computing, Enterprise Mobility, Mobile Backend as a Service (MBaaS) and Hybrid Mobile Apps. He is a regular speaker at various conferences and user group events. Shiju is an enthusiast on Agile and Lean development practices.
