DESCRIPTION:I will talk about RISC-V and how I built my own RISC-V SoC on
an FPGA. I plan to cover the minimal C library I wrote to control GPIOs\,
UART and onboard LEDs\, running Rust code on it\, and what I’m currently
  working on.

DESCRIPTION:Compiler Engineering is one of the strangest subfields of Comp
uter Science. Close to hardware but not quite\, deeply rooted in theory bu
t also constrained by practical tradeoffs. Its a field where academics and
engineers contribute equally to solving for two problems : Making code co
mpile correctly and run as fast as possible.\n\nIn this session the speake
r will draw from their own experience of working with organizations such a
s Arduino\, FSF/GNU\, Intel Mobileye and AMD\, and how it lead them to Com
piler Engineering. We go over the problems that Compiler developers work o
n\, the challenges they face\, and surprising areas where compiler technol
ogy has a huge impact. We end with examples of some very interesting thing
s that modern day optimizing compilers do\, and with advice on how the aud
ience can get started with compiler development.
