Hasgeek AV Cube Troubleshooting Guide
Interfaces / Items
- Video Inputs: The 2x Video Capture Cards (HDMI In) are for the Camera and the Speaker’s Laptop (Slides).
- Audio Inputs: The Audio Mixer - 8 inputs are for the microphones. These are controlled in the OBS “Audio Mixer” panel.
- Outputs: The 2x Display HDMI out go to your Control Monitor and the Room Projector.
- Your Controls: Use the Full Size Keyboard and Num Pad / Macro Keyboard to operate OBS. Touch Screen Monitor.
- Ethernet Input: 1x LAN connected from BIC’s Wall port
Known Issues
Video
Camera or Laptop Feed is Black in OBS
- Is the Source On?
Make sure the camera is on or the laptop is awake.
For laptops, ask the speaker to pressWindows Key + P
and select “Duplicate” or “Mirror” the display on Mac devices from the Control Panel. - Check the HDMI Cable
Trace the cable from the camera/laptop to the back of the AV Cube. Unplug and securely re-plug it at both ends. - Check the Splitter / Transmitter
- Refresh the Source
In OBS, find the “Sources” list. Click the ‘eye’ icon next to the non-working source (e.g., “Camera”) off and on again. - Check Properties
Right-click the source → Properties. Make sure the correct “Video Capture Device” is selected.
The Video Color is Distorted
- In the OBS “Sources” list, right-click on the source with the bad color (e.g., “Camera”).
- Select “Properties” from the menu.
- Scroll down to find the video settings:
- Color Space: Rec. 709
- Resolution: 1920x1080
- FPS: Match Output FPS or 30
- Color Range: Limited
- Notify on the group if it’s not working.
Audio
You can’t hear a speaker, and the audio bars for that mic aren’t moving in the OBS “Audio Mixer” panel:
- Check the Physical Mic: Is the switch on the microphone itself in the “ON” position?
- Check the Receiver: If the status light on the receiver is green.
- Check the Cable: Ensure the XLR cable is plugged securely into both the microphone and one of the Cube’s Audio Mixer - 8 inputs.
- Check the Fader: Make sure the volume slider for that channel is up.
- Check the Mute Button in OBS:
