Accessibility is an inherent aspect of web development. There are lots of misconceptions around React suggesting it makes it difficult to create accessible applications. In this talk, we will debunk this myth and explore how we can create accessible React components through practical examples. The main topics for discussion will be as follows: 1. A brief introduction of a11y 2. Explore case studies for some important use cases with React code, accessibility issues that can block out the assistive tech users entirely from proceeding, and how to fix those. 3. Dive into the accessibility tree to see how can the assistive technologies understand web content and how we can use that understanding to create a robust document structure.
The key takeaway: A deeper understanding of accessibility and some core concepts which will help the audience in contributing to a more inclusive and accessible digital world. The audience can apply the tips to their React projects right away.
