Ten years of Hasgeek

Wow! 10 years!

I remember visiting the HasGeek house during one of the birthdays to meet the team, interact with fellow geeks and most importantly, to have cake. Just walking in, I was really excited to meet all these new people. I hadn’t met or interacted with a lot of them at that point, and yet, they were all super friendly and welcoming. Over the years, building the HasGeek community, to being the face of HasGeek at events outside of our ‘Bangalore bubble’, meeting contributors and speakers that travelled half way across the city just to “meet someone from HasGeek team”, really made me appreciate this amazing community.

My colleagues were some of the most talented, smart and really empathetic people that I’m now proud to call friends. Now, when you put all these smart people together in a room, there ought to be some challenges. Like that time when literally half the team was on some sort of diet and poor Rita had to make regular unhealthy food just for a couple of us 🤷.

Anway, here’s to HasGeek! Thank you, team HasGeek, for what you’re doing, and congratulations on 10 years!

PS: 2020 is the first year that I haven’t received a Whatsapp message or call from a former speaker/volunteer asking me about the next HasGeek event.
