A platform to learn from developers and builders

Submitted Dec 22, 2020

HasGeek events allowed me to interact with developers and builders. To most, it may seem odd as this may be something they do day in and out. But I come from a community of security professionals null community, and it is rare to find many developers there.

I grew as a speaker and presenter every time I presented on security topics tailored for developers and got terrific feedback. Over the years, I have met so many of you only because I used to make it a point to attend HasGeek events.

Their vision extended to understanding the importance of content early on. They created excellent videos of talks from the beginning. You can see bunch of my presentations on video if you google akash mahajan youtube hasgeek.

With its open-source roots, HasGeek folks encouraged community participation and null community had the pleasure to do events together or even get table space to spread awareness.

Recently, HasGeek allowed my company and my teammates to do sessions around security as workshops, BoFs and webinars.

If you have been involved in the area of technology, legal aspects of technology, data privacy as a company, individual, speaker, trainer you have likely attended something that was organised, facilitated or planned by HasGeek.

Kudos to @zainab and @kiran for having the vision, grit and wherewithal to execute the vision and pull it off.

p.s. Fun fact - I was with Jace, Pradeep and others when the name HasGeek was coined. I feel privileged and honoured to have known the team behind this for so long.
