Decentralised, Community run communication/collaboration infrastructure - Why and How?

Submitted Nov 25, 2016

We need to take control of our communication/collaboration infrastructure, be it email, discussion groups, git hosting, or instant messaging.

Outline

We will discuss the need for running our own infrastructure, share our experiences with running services like poddery.com, diasp.in and git.fosscommunity.in. Looking for more volunteers to make these efforts sustainable.

Requirements

Looking for people who have some experience managing GNU/Linux systems or are passionate to learn. We’ll mentor interested folks to maintain systems that a large number of people depend on, installation, configuration, fine tuning of services like diaspora, gitlab, mediawiki etc.

Speaker bio

A Debian Developer and privacy advocate. Maintains public services like poddery.com, diasp.in and git.fosscommunity.in.
