Outline

“Mobile is the future of Software Development” – Google’s Eric Schmidt.

Android is an open-source Linux-based operating system designed mainly for smart phones and tablets. It is maintained as an open source project by Google. Owing to the popularity of Android, Mobile Apps development industries are considering Android Application Development as one of the best remunerative business opportunities. In this session, we will be focusing primarily on the user-facing parts of app-development.

 Preview:                                                    
         - Platform components and architecture: Overview                                                
         - Installation and set-up of Android studio.                                                   
         - Building a basic android application using android studio.
         - How to implement database connectivity, GPS service, user-notifications, graphics, touch and       gestures.
         - Programming cloud services.
         - Scope and applications of android application development.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of Java, Node.js, SQLite will be a plus point.

As young Android developers we have made interesting and inovative android applications like:

  • a car-pooling app named “Share My Ride”.

  • food-delivery app named “Yummy Wheels” using which travellers can order food from trains, buses etc. and get it delivered without breaking their journey. They can also track the delivery status using GPS.

    These apps are in their final stages of modification and soon will be launched in playstore.
