A month of making charts

  • Poster: alleyway

Describe your session in 2 paragraphs. Mention 1-2 takeaways from your session.

A visual display of my entries for this year’s #30DayChartChallenge run by Topi Tjukanov: thirty charts made over thirty days, each responding to a different prompt, question or curiosity.

Across the month, I moved between sketching by hand, familiar visualisation tools such as R or new ones like D3.js and AI-assisted coding. Beyond producing the chart, the interesting part was deciding which question was worth pursuing, where to find data, which form suited the idea, and what slice of the data the audience needed to see as the insight.

The display could take the form of a wall-sized grid of all 30 charts, a 30-day timeline running through the alleyway, or a series of 5-10 large-sized posters paired with the question or hypothesis behind them.

Add a link to draft slides, if available. PDF/PPT preferred. Please make sure comments are enabled.
