AI can generate code, queries, and dashboards but it still doesn’t understand your data. Without context, lineage, ownership, and business meaning, AI systems remain disconnected from the reality of your enterprise data.
OpenMetadata bridges this gap by bringing semantic understanding to your data , transforming fragmented assets across databases, pipelines, dashboards, and models into a connected knowledge graph. This unified graph gives AI the context it needs to reason about data, automate workflows, and deliver trustworthy insights.
In this session, we’ll explore how organizations are using OpenMetadata as the semantic layer for AI, enabling intelligent automation across data governance, quality, and discovery. We’ll also demonstrate how AI agents built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) can act safely and autonomously on metadata optimizing pipelines, improving quality, and keeping data systems in sync.
Mayur Singal is Open Source contributor to the OpenMetadata project, where he leads the development of connector integrations and lineage.
