##The eighth edition of The Fifth Elephant will be held in Bangalore on 25 and 26 July. A thousand data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers and analysts will gather at the NIMHANS Convention Centre in Bangalore to discuss:

  1. Model management, including data cleaning, instrumentation and productionizing data science.
  2. Bad data and case studies of failure in building data products.
  3. Identifying and handling fraud + data security at scale
  4. Applications of data science in agriculture, media and marketing, supply chain, geo-location, SaaS and e-commerce.
  5. Feature engineering and ML platforms.
  6. What it takes to create data-driven cultures in organizations of different scales.

##Highlights:

1. Meet Peter Wang, co-founder of Anaconda Inc, and learn about why data privacy is the first step towards robust data management; the journey of building Anaconda; and Anaconda in enterprise.
2. Talk to the Fulfillment and Supply Group (FSG) team from Flipkart, and learn about their work with platform engineering where ground truths are the source of data.
3. Attend tutorials on Deep Learning with RedisAI; TransmorgifyAI, Salesforce’s open source AutoML.
4. Discuss interesting problems to solve with data science in agriculture, SaaS perspective on multi-tenancy in Machine Learning (with the Freshworks team), bias in intent classification and recommendations.
5. Meet data science, data engineering and product teams from sponsoring companies to understand how they are handling data and leveraging intelligence from data to solve interesting problems.

##Why you should attend?

  1. Network with peers and practitioners from the data ecosystem
  2. Share approaches to solving expensive problems such as cleanliness of training data, model management and versioning data
  3. Demo your ideas in the demo session
  4. Join Birds of Feather (BOF) sessions to have productive discussions on focussed topics. Or, start your own Birds of Feather (BOF) session.

The Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem driven by Data Science Community

Submitted Apr 15, 2019

MUST Research is dedicated to promote excellence and competence in the field of data science, cognitive computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics for the benefit of the society. MUST is to build an ecosystem to enable interaction between academia and enterprise, help them in resolving problems, as well make them aware of the latest developments in the cognitive era to provide solution, guidance or training, organize lectures, seminars and workshop, collaborate on scientific programs and societal missions. The most exciting feature of MUST is the fundamental research on cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, text analytics, image processing, computer vision, audio signal processing, speech technology, embedded systems, internet of things etc. MUST Research is a non-profit organization registered under Society and Trust Act of India.

Cognitive computing makes a new class of problems computable. To respond to the fluid nature of users understanding of their problems, the cognitive computing system offers a synthesis not just of information sources but of influences, contexts, and insights. These systems differ from current computing applications in that they move beyond tabulating and calculating based on pre-configured rules and programs. They can infer and even reason based on broad objectives. In this sense, cognitive computing is a new type of computing with the goal of more accurate models of how the human brain or mind senses, reasons, and responds to stimulus. It is a field of study which studies how to create computers and computer software that are capable of intelligent behavior. This field is interdisciplinary, in which a number of sciences and professions converge, including computer science, electronics, mathematics, statistics, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, neuroscience and biology. Project Features are Adaptive: They MUST learn as information changes, and as goals and requirements evolve. They MUST resolve ambiguity and tolerate unpredictability. They MUST be engineered to feed on dynamic data in real time; Interactive: They MUST interact easily with users so that those users can define their needs comfortably. They MUST interact with other processors, devices, services, as well as with people; Iterative and Stateful: They MUST aid in defining a problem by asking questions or finding additional source input if a problem statement is ambiguous or incomplete. They MUST remember previous interactions in a process and return information that is suitable for the specific application at that point in time; Contextual: They MUST understand, identify, and extract contextual elements such as meaning, syntax, time, location, appropriate domain, regulation, user profile, process, task and goal. They may draw on multiple sources of information, including both structured and unstructured digital information, as well as sensory inputs (visual, gestural, auditory, or sensor-provided). {A set of cognitive systems is implemented and demonstrated as the project J+O=Y}
