At the end of the session, attendees should be able to understand the factors that they need to look at when evaluating whether to use ElasticSearch to build dashboard for their organizations.

Outline

In this talk, I will talk about my experiences building an internal dashboard for my organization. Having built the initial dashboard using SQL procedures, I looked at Elastic Search as an alternative. What were the problems I faced that I ended up trying Elastic Search? What were the problems that I faced when using Elastic Search? Did using Elastic Search lead to any significant benefit? How did it compare to what we had already built?

Speaker bio

Shashi heads the small engineering team at Babajob.com. He has been with Babajob during their most significant growth period and has been responsible for single handedly scaling the site to meet the growth. A hands on person, he is an avid follower of the Lean Startup methodology and thus off late has been building tools to help the organization understand, ask and answer the critical questions which will lead to the next phase of growth.

Prior to this, he bootstrapped a startup targeting the MBA entrance exams prep.
