Remote sensor emulation for IoT devices

Submitted Oct 16, 2015

Introduction to sensor architecture in Android Framework and Android HAL, the workings of sensor emulation in emulators, adding your own sensor implementation in HAL and creating interface to inject data into emulator sensor.

Outline

The sensor technology in Android has evolved overtime and with good results. This technology can be customised and used for different applications. The talk would concentrate around sensor architecture in Android Framework and Android HAL, the workings of sensor emulation in emulators, adding your own sensor implementation in HAL and creating interface to inject data into emulator sensor.

This talk will also showcase how we are working with sophisticated mathematical models to achieve a robust outcomes from the sensor data. We would first look into the various sensor technologies in use and then move onto introducing the techniques which we are working on.We would also illustrate some of the applications in gaming with smartphone as a controller. Also we would be talking about how anyone could easily integrate their own sensor implementation in HAL.

This technology could be used to redefine the way television viewers interact with their television and the way they consume visual data and interact with it. Also finding applications in interactive learning and of course improve gaming experience
