Submitted Oct 17, 2012

This talk will demo the developers and designers about an overview of the Android Fragments. Android version 3.0, known as Honeycomb, introduced a new concepts called “fragments” and “Action Bars”. Talk will focus on Android Fragment abilities and usage.

Outline

When developing mobile apps, developers must understand their core user needs and workflows. Mobile apps must be dead simple and instantly usable, without any “how to’s”. Concept revolves around using the best practices in development. This talk would primarily focus on android fragments and implementations :

  • What are fragments and why would you want to use one?
  • To fragment or not to fragment
  • Pull to refresh from Activities
  • Creating own fragment class and using existing sub class
  • Fragment transactions
  • Demo and practicals

Requirements

None. Just that i would be showing live code demo’s for participants so that they understand Android Fragments. If participants carry laptops, it would be great :)
