Abstract

Learn how to use CouchDB and Android and build a realtime system. Make your android app into a smart geo sensitive app without any external webservices / apis.

We are going to talk about CouchDB and its Android counter part called TouchDB. After running through the steps of setting up mobile and filtered replication with a couch server, we are going to see how we

Further add Full Text Search through TouchDB-Android-Lucene and make your apps do funky stuff like location based queries.

Requirements

Laptop with Android App Development environment - SDK (8+), Eclipse, Git. Download and create Android Library projects out of TouchDB-Android and TouchDB-Android-Lucene

    Sameer, did you intend for this to be a workshop/codelab where participants will follow the touchdb+lucene steps along with you, or will this be primarily talk+demo with participants following up offline?
