COEP FOSSMeet’19 is College of Engineering, Pune’s own Free and Open Source Software event. It is jointly organised by Computer and IT department, COEP, COEP’s Free Software Users Group (COFSUG) and COEP’s - Information and Cyber Security Research Group (COEP - ICSRG).
With a vision to promote the culture of openness, innovation, and freedom, the meet intends to bring together FOSS developers, academicians, researchers, students and all those who love the FOSS movement and provide an opportunity to all technophiles out there to participate in the FOSS development and adoption process through hands-on sessions, discussions and lectures.

Understanding Linux Boot Process
Understanding Linux Boot process involves a lot of handovers between processes and share-holders. The session will cover the outline and flow about the Linux Boot process.
The session duration could be of 60 mins.
The session will have two speakers : Prathamesh Chavan (myself) and Kenneth Dsouza
The Linux Boot process involves the hardware and software handovers and gives a clarity about the way Linux works. The session is a mix of interactive talk and demonstration of the boot process.
Projector with VGA as well as HDMI ports and a charger point.
Prathamesh Chavan is a Technical Support engineer and Kenneth Dsouza is a Software Maintainence engineer at Red Hat and they have been working with Red Hat since past 2 and a half years. They find themselves as begineers in Linux and everyday comes with a new learning at Red Hat.
